What are the main characteristics of a benchtop sander The benchtop sanders are heavy and corded tools designed to be used in one place in your workshop. They can often also be screwed to your workbench for fewer vibrations while sanding. Most commonly, benchtop sanders include a sanding belt, and on the side a disc sander as well.
Belt sanders are electronic devices that use a sandpaper belt to smooth materials like plastic, wood, or metal. They can be either portable or stationary. They consist of two drums and a motor that drives the sandpaper belt. Benchtop sanders make most sanding jobs much faster and easier for a woodworker.
This benchtop drum sander uses centrifugal force to create an air gap between the drum and the sandpaper. The air gap prevents the drum from creating heat, which in turn helps the sandpaper to last longer. It requires less motor power, as the drum is not forcing the paper into the wood. The result is exceptionally clean, smooth sanding.
